For this tour, you will be picked up from the reception at the Snow Resort, or from your hotel in Kirkenes. We will continue driving west towards Finland, south into the Pasvik Valley, or east towards the Russian border, depending on the weather and aurora forecast. While searching for the lights, you will also discover the region’s breathtaking scenery and remote Arctic landscapes.
Along the way, your knowledgeable guide will explain how the Northern Lights are formed and share fascinating stories about the local area, culture, and history. Warm juice and biscuits will be served during the journey to keep you warm and comfortable. With flexible routes and expert guidance, this tour offers both an exciting northern lights chase and a unique sightseeing experience in one.

How should I dress for your winter activities?
Even though we dress our excursion guests in warm and protective clothing, you should always pack warm winter clothes. Always wear several layers of warm clothing for the cold winter days.
1. Long underwear and socks in woolen or technical fabric
2. Jumper in wool or fleece, and pants in e.g. fleece or cotton
3. Thick jumper in wool or fleece, scarf, woolen socks and lined trousers, in windproof material
4. Woolen hat, winter jacket, gloves or mittens and winter shoes.
When is the winter season?
The timeline for activities may vary a bit, but mainly our winter season is from 01.12. - 20.04.
When is the best time of year for northern lights?
The northern lights appear already in the end of August, and last until early April. Meaning, the Aurora is there always, but after mid-april its too light to see them! The best period is however from September until March.
